About The HENSOLDT Bursary Programme 2026/2027
Fields Covered
HENSOLDT South Africa is inviting students to apply for its 2026 bursary programme.
Bursaries are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies in priority engineering and technical fields. A total of 10 bursaries will be awarded – 8 for undergraduate students and 2 for postgraduate students.
Undergraduate Studies:
- Electronic Engineering (BEng) – interest in embedded software/firmware
- Computer Engineering (BEng) – interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning
- Computer Science (BSc)
- Mechanical Engineering (BEng) – interest in fine mechanical design and optics
- Mechatronics Engineering (BEng) – interest in control systems
Postgraduate Studies:
- Electronic Engineering (MEng) – interest in radar and signal processing
- Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (MEng) – interest in control systems
What The HENSOLDT Bursary Covers
The bursary provides funding for:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
- Student accommodation
- Monthly allowance
In addition, bursary recipients will gain practical experience through:
- Undergraduates: holiday work opportunities
- Postgraduates: project-related work at HENSOLDT
Internships at HENSOLDT during and after studies are also included.
After graduation, recipients will be required to work at HENSOLDT for one year for every year of bursary funding received.
Eligibility Requirements for HENSOLDT South Africa Bursary Application 2026/2027
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be studying towards one of the listed undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications
- Electronic Engineering (BEng): entering 3rd or 4th year in 2026
- Computer Engineering (BEng): entering 3rd or 4th year in 2026
- Computer Science (BSc): entering 3rd year in 2026
- Mechanical Engineering (BEng): entering 3rd year in 2026
- Mechatronics Engineering (BEng): entering 3rd year in 2026
- Electronic Engineering (MEng): entering Master’s level in 2026
- Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering (MEng): entering Master’s level in 2026
- Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups
