Eligibility Requirements for SAMRC Scholarship Application 2026/2027
Applicants must meet all of the following minimum requirements to be considered:
- Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident
- Must be female
- Must have completed an Honours degree
- Must intend to study full-time
- Must enrol for an MSc in Biostatistics or Statistics
- Must study at a recognised and accredited South African university
- Must meet the admission requirements of the MSc programme or have received a formal offer of admission
- Must demonstrate a strong background in Mathematics, Statistics, Demography, or related quantitative fields
- Must agree to SAMRC scholarship terms and conditions
- Must not hold another bursary, scholarship, or grant that includes a service obligation without SAMRC’s prior approval
