- 2-year Diploma (Bridging Course) leading to registration as General or Psychiatric Nurse (Regulation 683), followed by 1-year Diploma in Midwifery (Regulation 254)
- 4-year Diploma in Nursing (General, Community, Psychiatry) and Midwifery (Regulation 425)
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree (Regulation R425)
- Must be currently registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife, or as a General Nurse with Midwifery qualification
- Must have a minimum of 2 years verifiable clinical experience in the specialty applied for
- Must intend to study full-time in 2026 for a minimum of one year
- Must study at a recognized higher education institution or College of Nursing in South Africa that offers the chosen specialty
Failure to meet any of these criteria will result in disqualification.
