About the AfriSam Bursary Programme 2026/2027
Fields of Study Covered

For the 2026 academic year, AfriSam’s Roodepoort Plant is inviting applications for their bursary programme. A total of two bursaries will be awarded to students pursuing either a BSc or BEng degree in Electrical Engineering at accredited South African universities.

This bursary aims to support students in their 3rd or 4th year of study, helping them gain both financial support and potential career exposure within a leading construction and engineering company.

Eligibility Requirements for AfriSam Bursary Application 2026/2027

To qualify for the AfriSam Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be studying full-time towards a BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering
  • Be in your 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Be enrolled at a recognized and accredited South African university
  • Have achieved a minimum overall average of 60%
  • Demonstrate good behavioural standards

Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA) and female students, in line with AfriSam’s commitment to transformation and diversity in the workplace.
