About The Bell Equipment Bursary Programme 2026/2027

Bell Equipment is inviting students to apply for its 2026 bursary programme.
Bursaries are available for studies in the following fields:
- Computer Science (BSc)
- Electrical Engineering (BEng / BSc)
- Electronics Engineering (BEng / BSc)
- Information Technology (BSc / BComm)
The bursary programme was established to help South African students develop skills aligned with industry needs, supporting the growth of the country’s skills pool.
Service Contract & Renewal
- Proof of registration at your university must be submitted before the end of March 2026.
- The bursary is renewable each year, depending on fund availability and satisfactory academic performance. Students must reapply by the end of November for the following academic year.
- Bursary recipients may be required to complete paid vacation work for a minimum of 8 weeks per year.
- After graduation, recipients may be required to work at Bell Equipment for a period equivalent to the bursary funding received.
Eligibility Requirements for Bell Equipment Bursary Application 2026/2027
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be studying full-time towards one of the approved qualifications (part-time and correspondence studies are not funded)
- Be entering your 2nd year of study in 2026
- Be enrolled at a recognised South African tertiary institution (University, University of Technology, or FET College)
- Have a minimum overall average of 65% in the current academic year
- Not receive any other bursary funding, except for academic performance grants from your institution
- Be passionate about design and innovation
- Be energetic and highly motivated
- Read and agree to the bursary terms and conditions (pages 8–9 of the application form)
