Bursary Coverage, Renewal and Selection

The bursary covers the following expenses (up to R40,000 per year):

Bursaries are valid for 1 academic year at a time and may be renewed annually based on academic performance.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 6 weeks of the closing date. If you do not hear back, please consider your application unsuccessful.

Eligibility Requirements for City of Johannesburg Bursary Application 2026/2027

To qualify for the City of Johannesburg Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Permanently reside in Johannesburg, Gauteng
