Bursary Benefits

The iSimangaliso bursary does not cover tuition fees, as those are expected to be funded by NSFAS. However, it may cover the following:

Students will also receive academic and psychosocial support through iSimangaliso’s partner, REAP, to help them succeed in their studies. Eligibility Criteria for iSimangaliso Wetland Park Bursary Application in 2026/2027

To qualify for the bursary, you must meet all of the following:

Be a South African citizen
Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
Achieve at least 55% average in your latest results (Grade 11 or Matric)
Accepted to begin 1st year of study in a relevant field in 2025
Be accepted at one of these public universities:

- University of the Western Cape (UWC)
