Bursary Benefits

The iSimangaliso bursary does not cover tuition fees, as those are expected to be funded by NSFAS. However, it may cover the following:

Students will also receive academic and psychosocial support through iSimangaliso’s partner, REAP, to help them succeed in their studies. Additionally, bursary recipients may participate in skills development workshops and community service activities during holidays to enhance their work-readiness.

Eligibility Criteria for iSimangaliso Wetland Park Bursary Application in 2026/2027

To qualify for the bursary, you must meet all of the following:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • Achieve at least 55% average in your latest results (Grade 11 or Matric)
  • Accepted to begin 1st year of study in a relevant field in 2025
  • Be accepted at one of these public universities:
