The UKZN Doctoral Research Scholarships 2026 are designed to support full-time doctoral candidates across the university’s four colleges. - Must be registered as a full-time doctoral student at UKZN in 2026

- Must have an accepted doctoral research proposal by the relevant College’s Higher Degrees Committee (minuted confirmation required)
- Candidates who have not yet submitted their doctoral theses for examination are generally not eligible
- Must be ranked in the top 5% for intellectual strength, research aptitude, and purposefulness
- Preference is given to candidates with research publications in the relevant field
Failure to satisfy these requirements will result in disqualification.
