About De Beers Bursary Programme 2026/2027
Fields Covered
De Beers is offering bursaries for the 2022 academic year to students from the Blouberg and Musina Municipalities. The bursary is available for full-time studies at a recognised University or University of Technology in the following fields:
- Accounting
- Electrical Engineering
- Human Resources Management
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgy
- Mineral Resource Management (Geology, Geotech, Survey)
- Mining
A total of 7 bursaries will be awarded. One in each field listed above, except for Mining, which will have two recipients.
Bursary Benefits and Selection Process
The bursary covers:
- Full tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
- Accommodation costs
In addition, recipients will get the chance to take part in paid vacation work during university holidays.
Funding is awarded for one academic year at a time and can be renewed each year, provided the student maintains good academic performance.

Eligibility Requirements for De Beers Bursary Application 2026/2027
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be from the Blouberg or Musina Municipality in Limpopo
- Have completed Matric
- Achieve at least APS 5 for Mathematics and Science in Matric
- Be studying full-time towards a qualification in one of the listed fields
- Have completed first year and be entering second year of study
- Be enrolled at an accredited South African University or University of Technology
- Not be receiving another bursary from a different company
(Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds – HDSA students)
