About Donald White / Mandla A. Ndwanya Memorial Fund
The Donald White / Mandla A. Ndwanya Memorial Fund was established in 2012 to honor two remarkable men:
- Donald White, a dedicated career educator.
- Mandla Andrew Ndwanya, who had a strong passion for business studies in South Africa.
To carry on their legacy, the White family created the fund to support learners in Nyanga, Gugulethu, and nearby communities. In 2017, it was registered as a non-profit organization (NPO) in the United States, forming a board to oversee its mission of empowering young South Africans.
The fund raises money through donations to:
- Provide school uniforms and shoes to learners at Mkhanyiseli Primary School and John Pama Primary School in Nyanga.
- Offer scholarships to both American and South African students for further studies at universities and colleges.
- Provide internship opportunities in Cape Town for U.S.-based college students, in partnership with Volunteer Adventure Corps (VAC).
