About GABS Bursary Programme 2026/2027
Fields Covered

Golden Arrow Bus Services is inviting students to apply for its bursary programme for the 2026 academic year.

The bursary will be awarded for studies in the field of:

  • BSc Computer Science
Coverage Value, Service Contract & Selection

The bursary will cover:

  • Tuition fees
  • Transport costs
  • Accommodation (according to actual university charges)
  • A monthly stipend of R4 000 (or as determined by GABS) to help with additional study and living expenses

Recipients will be required to work for Golden Arrow Bus Services after graduation – one year of service for every year of funding received.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. If you do not receive feedback, please consider your application unsuccessful.

Eligibility Requirements for GABS Bursary Application 2026/2027

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be studying towards a BSc Computer Science degree
  • Must be entering your 2nd year or higher of study in 2026
  • Household income must not exceed R400 000 per annum (or R600 000 per annum if living with a disability)
  • All SASSA grant recipients automatically qualify
  • Must be willing to work for Golden Arrow for the same number of years funded

Note: There is no application form for this bursary. Applicants must only submit the required supporting documents listed below:

  • Certified copy of Matric certificate
  • Certified copies of previous academic transcripts
  • Proof of enrolment from the institution (on official letterhead)
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of household income (latest payslips/3 months’ bank statements if employed; affidavit if unemployed)
  • Recommendation letters from academic or professional referees
  • Disability assessment report (if applicable)
  • Death certificate of parents (if orphaned)
