Implats is offering bursaries for the 2026 academic year to support talented students pursuing studies in the following fields:

Bursary Benefits, Service Agreement & Selection

The Implats bursary covers:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation in residence
  • Computer allowance (from 2nd year onwards)
  • Annual cash allowance

Recipients must complete vacation work at Implats each year and will be required to work for the company after graduation for the same number of years they were funded.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews at the Impala Platinum Rustenburg operations. If you do not receive feedback within 30 days after the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.

Eligibility Requirements for Implats Bursary Application 2026/2027

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be in Matric or have completed Matric
  • Be studying or planning to study in one of the listed fields
  • Have achieved university exemption
  • Have at least 60% (Rating Code 5) in English, Mathematics, and Science in Matric
  • Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply (subject to role-specific physical requirements)
