About SAICA Thuthuka Bursary Fund Programme 2026/2027 – Fields Covered

SAICA is inviting applications for the Thuthuka Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year.

This bursary is aimed at students pursuing a Chartered Accountancy qualification through one of SAICA’s accredited undergraduate programmes at selected South African universities, including:

What the SAICA Thuthuka Bursary Fund Covers

The bursary provides full financial support for:

Selection Process

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted. Selection is based on:

  • Academic performance
  • Financial need (as assessed by NSFAS)
  • NBT (National Benchmark Test) scores

Successful applicants must sign a contract with both the Thuthuka Education and Upliftment Fund (TEUF) and NSFAS. Bursaries are awarded annually and renewed at the discretion of the fund.

Eligibility Criteria for SAICA Thuthuka Bursary Fund Application 2026/2027

To qualify, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be Black African or Coloured
  • Be from a financially disadvantaged background
  • Be in Grade 12 (Matric) or have completed Matric within the last 2 years
  • Have obtained at least 60% (Level 5) in Mathematics in Grade 11 (NOT Maths Literacy)
  • Have applied or plan to apply to one of the listed SAICA-accredited universities for 2026
  • Have a family income of R350,000 or less per year
  • Have written or plan to write the NBT before the closing date
