About SASMT Teachers Bursary Programme 2026/2027

The SASMT Teachers Bursary is open to current SASMT members who are in financial need and wish to further their music studies in the 2026 academic year.

  • The bursary is awarded every 2 years.
  • The funding amount depends on available SASMT funds.
  • Applicants will be informed of the outcome by end of November 2021.
  • Successful recipients will be required to present a paper at the biennial SASMT National Conference.
Eligibility Requirements for SASMT Teacher Bursary Application 2026/2027

To qualify for the SASMT Teachers Bursary, you must:

  • Be studying towards a music qualification
  • Be registered at a South African tertiary institution
  • Be a paid-up SASMT member for at least 2 years
