Eligibility Requirements for South African Association of Botanists Scholarship 2026/2027
To be considered for the SAAB Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a resident of a SADC country, including:
South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini (Swaziland), Angola, Malawi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Seychelles, Mozambique, Mauritius, Madagascar, or Comoros. - Must be studying towards a postgraduate qualification in Botany or a related field.
- Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70%.
- Must be registered at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Must have a supervisor who is a paid-up member of SAAB.
Additional requirement for MSc students:
- Must hold a BSc Honours degree with a minimum average of 70%.
- Must be in the first year of MSc study.
Failure to meet any of these requirements will result in your application not being considered.
