About The Lockdown Collection (TLC)

The Lockdown Collection (TLC) was founded in response to the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative aimed to turn a difficult time into an opportunity that could support others and create a sustainable future.

TLC’s mission is to uplift and showcase the talents of South African artists—an industry that was severely impacted by the pandemic. This has been made possible through the generosity and donations of many South Africans.

During the initial 21-day lockdown, TLC curated a collection of artworks created by various South African artists. These works reflected the thoughts, emotions, and experiences of the artists during lockdown. The artworks were shared daily on social media, and at the end of lockdown, the collection was auctioned online as a whole. Today, TLC continues to operate, providing a platform for artists across South Africa in these challenging times.
