About Tiso Foundation
The Tiso Foundation is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) established in 2001. The Foundation is committed to advancing education through the provision of bursaries, scholarships, and awards that support research, teaching, and academic excellence.

About the Tiso Foundation Masters Scholarship Programme 2026/2027
The Tiso Foundation invites eligible students to apply for its Masters Scholarship Programme for the 2026 academic year.

Eligibility Requirements for Tiso Foundation Scholarship Application 2026/2027
Applicants must meet all of the following minimum criteria to be considered:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
- Must be Black, as defined by BBBEE (Black, Coloured, or Indian)
- Must have completed an Honours degree or MTech qualification
- Must be registered or provisionally accepted for full-time Master’s studies
- Must study at a registered University or University of Technology in South Africa
- Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in Matric
- Must have achieved at least 65% in the most recent tertiary qualification
- Must be unemployed
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must be able to provide references
Failure to meet any of the above requirements will result in the application not being considered.
