More About The Bursary Programme: Coverage Value And Service Contract

The bursary provides financial support for the following expenses:

  • Registration and tuition fees
  • Examination fees
  • Accommodation at a tertiary hostel (or a stipend for private housing)
  • Meals
  • An allowance of R10,000 per year for study materials and other living costs

After completing their studies, successful applicants will be required to work for Tourvest for the same length of time that they received the bursary.

Eligibility Requirements for Tourvest Bursary Application 2026/2027

Applicants must meet these minimum criteria to qualify:

  • Be a dependant of a Tourvest employee (children, adopted children, siblings, or anyone living with and financially dependent on the employee)
  • Reside in one of the countries where Tourvest operates: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, or Uganda
  • The sponsoring Tourvest employee must earn no more than R50,000/month CTC (or equivalent in other countries)
  • Have a strong academic record
  • Achieve a minimum overall average of 65% in Matric, or 60% at tertiary level
  • Be studying or intending to study in one of the listed fields
  • Be registered at a public tertiary institution in their country of residence
  • Not currently funded by any other bursary programme
  • Intend to pursue a career in the Hospitality/Tourism industry
How to Apply for Tourvest Bursary 2026/2027
  1. Download and complete the Tourvest Bursary Application Form (.pdf).
  2. Prepare and submit the following supporting documents (all documents are compulsory, and missing items may disqualify your application):
    • Certified copy of your ID/passport
    • Full academic record (if at tertiary level)
    • Latest academic results (if not currently studying)
    • Proof of provisional admission/acceptance (on institution letterhead)
    • Copy of the Tourvest employee’s payslip
    • Motivational letter explaining how your chosen field of study will benefit Tourvest
