About W&RSETA
The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) is a public organisation dedicated to improving skills development in South Africa’s wholesale and retail sector. Since its establishment, W&RSETA has supported the sector through various programmes, including grants, bursaries, learnerships, and training opportunities.
In 2011, W&RSETA launched its official Bursary Scheme to provide financial assistance to students pursuing qualifications in the wholesale and retail fields. About W&RSETA Bursary Programme – 2026/2027
Fields and What It Covers
For this bursary cycle, W&RSETA will award:
- 2,000 bursaries to new unemployed TVET College students
- 1,000 bursaries to new unemployed University (HET) students

Eligibility Requirements for
To apply, you must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be registered at or accepted by a recognised South African tertiary institution (University, University of Technology, or TVET College)
- Be studying full-time in one of the approved fields listed above
- Not have any other source of funding for your studies

- Download and complete the W&RSETA TVET Bursary Application Form (Word document).
- Email the completed form along with all supporting documents to: Bursaries2018@wrseta.org.za
Required Supporting Documents (Compulsory):
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate, Matric results, or NCV Level 4 certificate
- Grade 9 final results (TVET students only)
- Full academic record / statement of results (if available)
- Proof of registration or admission at a tertiary institution
