About Agricultural Business Chamber (Agbiz)

The Agricultural Business Chamber (Agbiz) has a long history dating back to 1946, when it was first established as the Co-operative Council to represent agricultural co-operatives. Over the years, the organization underwent several name changes: in 1995 it became Agricultural Co-operative Business (ACB), in 2003 it was renamed the Agricultural Business Chamber (ABC), and finally, in 2012, it was relaunched as Agbiz.

Today, Agbiz is a leading association representing agribusinesses across South Africa and the wider southern African region. Guided by its slogan, “The way to prosperity”, Agbiz is dedicated to promoting transformation, economic growth, and development within the agricultural sector.

To celebrate the rich history of its members who have reached 100 years of existence, Agbiz established the Agbiz Centenary Bursary Fund to support the next generation of agricultural leaders.
