About Canon Collins Wits Economic Justice Scholarship 2026/2027
Fields Covered
In partnership with WITS University and the Institute of Economic Justice (IEJ), the Canon Collins Trust is offering scholarships for the 2026 academic year.
The programme supports students who want to advance social and economic justice in Southern Africa. Scholarships will fund studies towards a Master of Commerce (MCom) in Applied Development Economics at WITS.
Funded by the Sol Plaatje Educational Project (SPEP), the scholarship aims to help students gain the skills and qualifications needed to promote fair and inclusive economic development. Beyond funding, recipients will also benefit from:
- Leadership development opportunities through organised events.
- A paid 6-month internship at the Institute of Economic Justice (Johannesburg).
- Access to professional networks that will support their careers in social justice.
Applicants will also be required to apply for the WITS Postgraduate Merit Award.
