About KZN Department of Sport, Arts and Culture
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (KZN DSAC) was established in January after the merger of the Department of Arts and Culture and the Department of Sport and Recreation.
KZN DSAC is dedicated to:

The department is offering bursaries for the 2026 academic year to students living in KwaZulu-Natal. Funding is available for studies in the following critical and scarce skills fields:
- Archives & Records Management (Postgraduate Diploma)
- Fashion Design (National Diploma)
- Film & Television Production – Animation / Cinematography (BA)

Who Can Apply?
To apply, you must:
- Be a resident of KwaZulu-Natal
- Be 18–35 years old
- Be in Matric in 2026 OR have completed Matric
- Plan to study full-time in one of the listed fields
- Be studying or provisionally accepted at a recognised public university or TVET college in South Africa
- Preference: students studying in KZN institutions (unless the programme is not offered locally)
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
