About Canon Collins RMTF Scholarship Programme 2026/2027

The Canon Collins RMTF Scholarship Programme invites applications for postgraduate funding for the 2026 academic year. The scholarship is open to students from selected Southern African countries who wish to pursue Master’s or PhD studies in South Africa.

Funding Value and Duration

• PhD students may receive funding for up to 3 years

Funding is renewed annually, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Additional Scholar Commitments

Eligibility Requirements for Canon Collins RMTF Scholarship Application 2026/2027

To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following minimum criteria:

• Be a national of or have refugee status in one of the following countries:
  South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Eswatini (Swaziland), or Zambia
• Be normally resident in one of the above countries
• Hold a good first degree (minimum second class upper division or equivalent), or be in the final year of study
• Be studying or applying to study in one of the approved fields at postgraduate level (Master’s or PhD)
• Be studying or intending to study full-time or part-time (distance learning applications are also considered)
• Be studying or applying to study at a South African university
• Preference is given to students completing their studies in 2026 or 2027

Failure to meet any of these requirements will result in the application being unsuccessful.
